Contraptions actually make stuff! Click here to discuss.
You can get awards (and pot bucks) for using your contraptions!
SEE CONTRAPTION AWARDSContraption Shares: You can now share when you use your contraptions. You can post unlimited amounts of contraption products and each post will work for the first 10 players to click. You can collect 20 contraption products per day from other player's posts. NOTE: Getting contraption products from your friends does NOT count toward awards nor quests. You need to produce them yourself.
Contraption Tip: Working contraptions always show what percentage is left if you hover over them. NOW, using the multi-tool (the hand icon), you can click on them and see how much TIME is left until you can collect from them.
BASIC DESCRIPTIONS:

You can then sell the hemp oil for 35 coins or save it to make potcorn or nachos (below). [ILLUSTRATION]

1 The Xmas Corntraption is basically the same as the Caramel Cornifier. The only differences are that the Xmas version runs in 20 seconds versus 30 and the cost was pot bucks instead of coins. Also, the Xmas version unlocked at level 19.
2 The Love In was also available for players level 3 and above for $49 pot bucks.
3 The Green Brewery was also available for players level 3 and above for $44 pot bucks.
LEGEND:
- Unlock level: the level when the contraptions becomes available to purchase.
- Space: number of spaces the contraptions take up.
- Start cost: Initial cost to buy contraptions.
- Daily income: Income earned every 24 hours just for owning contraptions.
- Ingredients: Ingredients needed in your stash to run the contraptions.
- Produces: Quantity and product produced.
- Grow time: Total hours to grow all ingredients based on consecutive growing on a single space.
- Cost to plant: Total cost to plant all ingredients. For contraptions using processed ingredients (hemp oil or potcorn), cost to plant includes cost to plant ingredients needed for the original contraption.
- Run time: Time it takes to run contraptions.
- Sale price: What you sell the processed goods for (in coins).
- Sale profit: Sale price less cost to plant ingredients.
- Hourly profit: Profit from production divided by hours to grow ingredients PLUS contraptions' daily income divided by 24 (hourly income).
- Run xp: XP earned running contraptions. (Does NOT currently include xp earned planting and harvesting the ingredients.)
- Hourly xp: XP earned per hour of ingredient grow time.
FLAWS:
It remains difficult to directly compare contraptions to seeds. It's fairly easy to replant a crop shortly after the previous one is ready to harvest, However, it's unlikely the average player will keep their contraptions running constantly 24/7, restarting every time production completes.
The xp return listed in the chart is only what the contraption itself gives. In the future, I may include the xp from planting and harvesting the ingredients, as that could make a better comparison to seeds.
Another problem is that this is all just theoretical. It doesn't necessarily address how you would actually play the game.
There are several variables that have been added to the game that are difficult to factor in. With the introduction of 2X and 3x seeds, data changes. Although grow time is the same, grow time per ingredient changes significantly. Also, many ingredients can be gifted (such as potcorn).
Lastly, with the introduction of storage, your contraptions no longer need to block you from planting your ingredients. Many people store their contraptions, grow their ingredients, then bring the contraptions out of storage when it's time to process them.
CONCLUSION:
Bottom line... it's a game to play and enjoy. If you think of it as a puzzle to be solved (like I do), hopefully the data presented here will help (or at least get you thinking). Happy harvesting!
