MYSTERY SEEDS:
Share Mystery Seeds
Premium plants such as Pizza Flowers, Ripple Chip Plant, Bacon Tree, Jelly Bean Tree, etc. can only be grown when planting Mystery Seeds. Mystery Seeds can be purchased in the store for $1 pot buck each. (See below for other ways to get them.) They take 3 minutes to grow, give 4 xp for planting, and randomly give either one of the special items listed below, OR an ordinary plant from the main seed chart.

Collecting Mystery Seeds (and limits): You can collect free Mystery Seeds from your friends posts. You can find these on their wall or on your Facebook news feed. With 11 different types of posts to collect mystery seeds from, you can get up to 44 free mystery seeds every 24 hours! People who think the limit is much less usually don't realize that there is a separate limit for each type of mystery seed post.
There is a limit of 4 per type (ex. Pizza, Ripple) in a 24 hour period. There is no set time for the this 24 hour clock to reset. If you collected mystery seeds from 4 Pizza posts, one at 1pm, one at 2pm, one at 3pm and one at 4 pm you would have to wait until the following day at the same times to collect from Pizza posts again. However, you can still collect from the other 10 types until you reach the daily limit for those.
NOTE: Just because your friend got a bacon tree, posted the mystery seed, and you were fast enough to score one DOES NOT mean that your mystery seed will also grow into a bacon tree. Mystery seeds grow randomly.
Mystery Seed Feedback: Here's an example of the notice you'll get when you claim a mystery seed. Messages like this show how many Mystery Seeds we have claimed off of each kind of plant post, and when we can claim more!
Posting Mystery Seeds: When you harvest one of the special seeds listed in the chart below, you'll get a pop-up with the option of offering mystery seeds to your friends. (You'll only get this option once per seed per session. So, if you want to share more than one of the same plant, you'll need to reload the game before harvesting so you get the pop-up to share again.) The first 5 of your friends to respond will get a free mystery seed of their own.)
Problems posting: There is an issue with the in-game camera and posting Mystery Seeds. The permissions that it asks for will allow some things to auto-post to your wall.You will get the initial pop-up asking if you want to share your mystery seed, but not the second one. This means you can't include a note or define who you want to see your post.
To fix this issue, go to your profile page. Click on "Account" in the upper right. From the drop-down menu, select "Privacy Settings." On the Privacy page, go to the lower left corner and select "Edit your settings" under Applications and Websites. Find Pot Farm and click on it. Find the option for "Post to my wall" and click remove. This should put things back to normal.
JACKPOT SEEDS! Players asked for a mystery seed that gave only premium stuff. This is it! Buy it for $5 pot bucks for 'better bacon bets and best buds!'. 3 minute grow time just like other mystery seeds (even though it lists grow time as zero). Protection is -3 while growing. Then you get whatever protection the mystery seed you've grown offers. Harvest XP is listed in the game as zero, but most premium seeds give 200xp, so it depends on what you grow.
Among some premium seeds, I did get a 9x Danny Boy and an Alaska Thunderfudk, so it's not ALL pot buck plants. It is a lot of good stuff though.
People seem to think they should be getting dollar for dollar what they put into it, but completely forget that you get some HUGE awards for harvesting the premium plants. (We're talking 5 MILLION COINS for just 3 bacon plants.) The others plants have some awesome rewards too. See details on my Awards Page.

Legend:
Protection: Positive number indicate protection this plant will offer when fully grown. Negative numbers indicate how much protection they require until harvested.
Yield: This is the number of plants, jelly beans, bacon, etc. that you receive when harvesting ONE of these.
Total Sale Price: Harvesting this plant will gain you this amount of coins (or pot bucks if noted with a $). If you yield multiple items, this is the cost for selling ALL of them. (Bacon Trees give 12 bacon that sell for $1 pot buck each, so it's listed as a sale price of $12 pot bucks.)
Cost per protection: This isn't truly cost. It's what you would get for harvesting divided by amount of protection you would have if you didn't harvest. (You can keep the Bacon Tree and have 25 protection or sell it and get $12 pot bucks. That a cost of $0.60 per protection.)

Strategy: Hold on to your bacon: I know it's exciting to plant a mystery seed and find a bacon tree worth $12 pot bucks. But if you're looking for protection, you might want to resist the urge to harvest. They give 25 protection on a single space! After level 38, there are other good protection options to consider.
HUGE AWARDS: We get some HUGE awards for growing premium mystery seeds (such as 5,000,000 coins for growing just 3 bacon trees!) See my AWARDS page for complete details.

The following "seasonal" plants also show up as mystery seeds, and can sometimes be found visiting neighbors, or as a mystery gift. Read on for details:
420 BLUES: Available as a gift from 3/25 through 4/20. 7 hour grow time, -1 protection, 6xp for harvesting, sale price is 280 coins. Complete stats on my SEED page.
420 Blues is showing up in various supercrop versions as a mystery seed and when visiting neighbors. There are 5 awards for 420 Blues (the top one paying 60,000xp! Details are on my awards page. Also, Blue Shrooms generate 420 Blues seeds. See REPEATERS on the Game Info page for more details.
Acapulco Gold (AG): This is the original mystery seed. (Perhaps that's why there are no awards offered for it.) In addition to growing from mystery seeds, AG can be grown from AG SEEDS which are a product of the Puffy Leprechaun. AG grown from AG seeds is the same as that found in mystery seeds, but it takes 96 hours (4 days) to grow. (Use Bat Guano to grow them instantly!) Harvested AG gets you 1200 coins and 100xp. When you harvest, you are able to share mystery seeds with your friends.
AG is only giftable through a feature called Old Hippie Gold which appears as an occasional popup.
As mentioned above, there are currently no awards for Acapulco Gold. For right now, their ease of availability and the awesome xp they offer will have to suffice.
Alien Kush: Available from July 7 through August 23, 2011, it was part of the CONSPIRACY THEME. You could send 1x as a gift and buy 4x and 9x from the store. It can now be found when visiting neighbors, on the newsfeed when shared, and as a mystery seed. The crop circle 'repeaters' generate these seeds too!
1x (gift only), 32 hours, -1 pro, 0xp plant, 20xp harvest, 1 yield, 600 coins
4x, $1pb, 32 hours, -1 pro, 10xp plant, 80xp harvest, 4 yield, 600 coins each = 2400
9x, $2pb $1pb, 32 hours, -1 pro, 10xp plant, 180xp harvest, 9 yield, 600 coins each = 5400
20x (Alien Grey Kush), $5pb or 1 fb credit, 16 hours, -1 pro, 200xp plant, 400xp harvest, 20 yeild, 600 coins each = 12000
Chocolate Chunk: Released as a gift item for Easter 2011. Was available in 1x version as a gift. It was also available in 4x and 9x for $1 and $2 pot bucks.
It can now be found when visiting neighbors, on the newsfeed when shared, and as a mystery seed. It may even start showing up as a mystery gift.
1x (gift only), 16 hours, -1 pro, 0xp plant, 10xp harvest, 1 yield, 300 coins, ltd 20.5 days.
4x for $1 pot buck, 16 hours, -1 pro, 20 xp plant (only if purchased), 40 xp harvest, 4 yield, 300 coins each = 1200
9x for $2 pot bucks, 16 hours, -1 pro, 45 xp plant (only if purchased), 95 xp harvest, 9 yield, 300 coins each = 2700
Christmas Kush: These were a gift item from Christmas 2010 that still occasionally show up as mystery seeds. Christmas Kush grown from Christmas Kush seeds is the same as that found in mystery seeds, but it takes 6 hours to grow. If you plant a mystery seed and it grows into a Christmas Kush 3x or 10x, you'll have the opportunity to share with your friends. If you share a 3x, they'll get a 1x seed. If you share a 10x, they'll get a 3x seed.
Danny Boy (DB): Danny Boy was a gift item from St Patricks Day 2011 that still occasionally shows up as mystery seeds. DB grown from DB seeds is the same as that found in mystery seeds, but it takes 12 hours to grow.
When you harvest a 4x or 9x DB, you'll get the option to share with your friends. If you share a 9x, they'll get a 4x seed. If you share a 4x, they'll get a 1x seed.
Ditch Weed (DW): Ditch Weed is a gift item from June 2011. When you harvest a 4x or 9x DW, you'll get the option to share with your friends. If you share a 9x, they'll get a 4x seed. If you share a 4x, they'll get a 1x seed.
Halloween Plants: These were originally a gift item from Halloween 2010 that still occasionally show up as mystery seeds. There is nothing special about them. They do not offer protection nor pot bucks. The chart above shows info for a 10x seed.
THEY'RE BACK FOR 2011! Halloween seeds were re-released for the 2011 Halloween season. You can gift the 1x variety. 10x Halloween can be purchased for 1 FB credit in the Facebook version of the game or for 5 pot bucks each at www.thepotfarmgame.com
When you harvest a 4x or 10x Halloween, you'll get the option to share with your friends. If you share a 10x, they'll get a 4x seed. If you share a 4x, they'll get a 1x seed.
Grow time is 10 minutes. Protection is -3. Halloween plants sell for 100 each, so with a 10x, you get 10 plants, worth a total of 1,000 coins. You get 10xp when you BUY a 10x seed.
Love Potion (LP): Love Potion seeds were originally available as gifts in February 2011. They are not in the main seed chart because they are no longer available to purchase.
You can now find LP (not to be confused with 'Love Oil' which is a contraption ingredient) as a mystery seed. LP comes in 3 flavors, 1x, 4x and 9x. See the chart above for their stats.
When you harvest a 4x or 9x LP, you'll get the option to share with your friends. If you share a 9x, they'll get a 4x seed. If you share a 4x, they'll get a 1x seed. There's no way of distinguishing between these before harvesting.
You can collect up to 25 LP seeds from your friends' LP posts on the newsfeed. (That's 25 seeds, whether they're 1x or 4x.) The limitation is only to newsfeed scores. Gifts are excluded from this limitation.
LP can also be found occasionally when visiting neighbors (in quantities up to 60!)
When planting an LP seed (as opposed to growing it as a mystery seed), grow time is 16 hours.
OG Kush (OGK): "OG Kush" is a seasonal seed available Aug 31 - Sept 20, 2011 as part of the Rockstar theme. Mooch and gift 1x to your neighbors. Grows in 6 hours and sells for 280 coins. Buy 4x for $1 pot buck. Buy 9x for 1 FB credit. There's even an OG Kush Hollywood which is a 20x OG Kush (just like the Alien Grey Kush) that can grow from a mystery seed or be purchased for 5 facebook credits (on sale for 2 fb credits). There are a few Rockstar theme repeaters that generates OG Kush seeds. CLICK HERE for details. And visit the SEEDS page for some more stats.
When you harvest a 4x or 9x OGK or an OGK Hollywood, you'll get the option to share with your friends. If you share an OGK Hollywood (20x), they'll get a 9x seed. If you share a 9x, they'll get a 4x seed. If you share a 4x, they'll get a 1x seed.
EXTENSION? I spoke to one of the developers on Sept 14 about whether or not we'd be getting an extension on the rockstar theme and quests. The response was "we're probably extending it by a week". Don't give up on those quests yet!
Panama Red: Panama Red was a test crop available to levels 95 and up from January 21-24. (Click HERE to see the developers announcement when it released.)
Panama Red still shows up occasionally as a mystery seed and when visiting neighbors. You get a huge 200xp per harvest and 10,000 coins. There is a single award for 75 Panama Red. Visit my awards page for details.
When planting a Panama Red seed (as opposed to growing it as a mystery seed), grow time is 12 hours.
Pineapple Punch (PP): Pineapple Punch was a seasonal seed available for gifting from May 12 through June 3, 2011. 1x was gift only. Grow time was 13 hours. 4x cost $1 pot buck. 9x cost $2 pot bucks. When you harvest a 4x or 9x PP, you get the option to share with your friends. If you share a 9x, they get a 4x seed. If you share a 4x, they get a 1x seed.
"Super" Cane (4X) and "Xmas" Sugarcane (1X): These were limited time offers at the end of 2010 that still occasionally show up when harvesting mystery seeds. There is nothing special about them, except the 1x provides 7 protection and the 4x provides 28. However, you cannot tell the difference between these and standard Sugar Cane until harvesting. These cannot be shared like premium mystery seeds.
